Organization Management
Manage organization members, roles, projects, seats, and shared templates.
An organization is a private workspace where teams collaborate across one or more Software Factory projects. Organizations define membership, permissions, usage limits, and shared resources such as templates.
Create an organization
When signing up for Software Factory, you can create an organization or join an existing organization through an invitation. The user who completes the initial signup becomes the organization administrator.
Access the Organization Console
The Organization Console is the central place to manage your organization:
- Select your user icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Organization Console.
Administrators can manage members, projects, templates, usage, and billing from the console.
Seat management
Organizations have a fixed number of seats:
- Organization administrators manage seats.
- The system prevents adding members beyond the seat limit.
- No additional members can be added after the limit is reached.
Administrators can increase or decrease the seat count by selecting Manage Billing on the Members page.
Members and roles
The Organization Console lists every organization member and their assigned role.
Member
Member is the default role. Members can:
- Access and collaborate on organization projects.
- Contribute to Requirements, Blueprints, and Work Orders.
- Use shared templates and Artifacts.
Administrator
Administrators can:
- Add or remove members.
- Assign and change member roles.
- Manage organization settings.
- Manage shared templates.
- View usage and manage billing.
- Manage organization-wide projects and archives.
Grant Administrator access only to users responsible for managing the organization.
Manage projects across the organization
The Organization Console provides a consolidated view of every project. Administrators can:
- View projects across teams.
- Edit project names.
- Archive projects.
Shared templates
Templates created within individual projects—including Blueprint and Work Order templates—can be promoted for organization-wide use. Shared templates help teams standardize workflows and reuse proven patterns across projects.
